Banca Civica confirms merger talks with CajaSol

Spanish savings bank Banca Civica said Friday that it is in merger talks with CajaSol. The statement confirmed earlier media reports that the two were close to a deal. Banca Civica is made up of three cajas, or savings banks -- Caja Navarra, Caja Canarias and Caja del Burgos.
